Jaytex was the head contractor for the redevelopment of SWELL (Swimming, Wellness, Events, Leisure, Lifestyle), creating the ultimate public destination in Palmerston NT.
The exciting design and construct project included refurbishing the existing 50m pool, a new dedicated warm water program pool, zero-depth splash and play area and leisure pool, an aquatic adventure play system, basketball half court, events areas, and improved facilities.
The Adventure Play high ropes was the first ever two-storey aquatic course in the Territory and the Jaytex team worked closely with specialised subcontractors to bring the 4.5m course to life. We also delivered an impressive motorised retractable shade system to cover the entire 50m pool, built to withstand cyclonic conditions.
Quality control was paramount in ensuring the pools met strict compliance and safety standards and the team worked hard to complete the project within a tight program in time for summer holidays. The gym/ recreation centre remained operational throughout construction with Jaytex maintaining safe access and regular updates to occupants.
